Second Row right hand side Mr Ossie Thomas MSc ARIC Chemistry and Engineering Science Master. Promoted in 1948 to become Principal of Bargoed College of Further Education. Returned to Pontardawe on the retirement of Mr J H Davies as Principal / Headmaster of the Technical School. Awarded the OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List for services to Education.
Pontardawe Technical School, The Secondary School and Pontardawe Grammar School were amalgamated to form Cwmtawe Comprehensive around the late 1960s
